A Newby based diary has been given a Great Taste award for the quality of their individually wrapped food service salted butter portions.

Winter Tarn Dairy launched individual portions of their award winning salted and unsalted butters in handy food service 10g portions in 2021.

Ever since the business launched their individually foil wrapped butter portions, they’ve been in huge demand by hospitality businesses, including cafes, restaurants and hotels up and down the country.

All Winter Tarn Dairy butters are crafted with great care in small batches, using only the finest, fresh dairy cream, sourced from a number of carefully selected small herd dairy farms in the north west of England and their individual foodservice portions are no exception.

Harry Jackson sales manager from Winter Tarn Dairy commented: ‘’As you’d expect with our butter everything is carefully considered from the provenance of the ingredients we use, to the manufacturing processes, packaging and distribution of our finished butters.

“We work with like-minded businesses, who care about what they do and how they do it.

“Winning a Guild of Fine Food Great Taste award is testament to the care and attention to detail that we put into everything that we do and is a huge pat on the back for every member of the team.’’

The judges commented: ‘’There is a rich yellow colour to these hand-crafted butter portions. The butter is creamy, soft, with and excellent balance of salt.’’

Further adding: ‘’It is very smooth and cream with a light but moreish salinity. There is an enticing complexity to the flavour. Overall, well-seasoned and a delicious savoury butter.’’
