A train station in Cumbria will offer inclusive play sessions this weekend for children with autism, ADHD and other special needs.
Kirkby Stephen East Station will host their All Aboard Club on Saturday, August 5 to give youngsters who are passionate about trains the opportunity to build and play with huge train sets in a safe, understanding and supportive environment.
Children can run the trains, build the track, and sort out any problems. This promises to build their confidence, reduce their anxiety, and allow them to play for hours while developing their social and communication skills.
The two-hour session, which takes place between 10 am - 12 pm, is suitable for children aged four and upwards, although a parent or carer must be present for the whole session.
Train sets will also run alongside the historic Stanmore Heritage Railway platform to give children a fully immersive experience.
More information can be found on the train station's event page.
