Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a man who has been convicted of assault – after he missed his own trial.

Jordan Roche, 25, was due to stand trial at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to face two charges of assault by beating.

Roche, of Lowther Street, Carlisle, had entered not guilty pleas on June 13 but was convicted of the offences after he failed to attend the trial.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The assaults on a male and a female took place in Cockermouth on May 21.

Anyone who has information on Roche’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
