The late Carlisle United coach was remembered as part of pre-match tributes before the Blues' opening game of the season.
Long-serving and hugely respected youth coach Wilkes was described in a Public Address announcement as a "dear friend and colleague".
His passing in June was marked by a minute's applause as fans in the 10,279 crowd plus players, staff and officials paid their respects.
The pre-game In Memoriam ceremony was also in memory of a number of other people close to United who have passed away in recent months.
