Online bathroom retailer Victoria Plum has partnered with TV and radio presenter Helen Skelton to create the Victoria Plum Community Foundation, which can help support worthy causes across Cumbria.

The foundation will donate bathroom, toilet, and shower products to community projects in need of new facilities across the UK.

Those wishing to nominate a cause can do so by submitting their details and a 150-word explanation of why they believe the Community Foundation should help.

A panel of judges, including Helen and other colleagues from Victoria Plum, will select the most deserving causes and collaborate with them to improve their facilities.

In an effort to minimise environmental impact, the Community Foundation plans to utilise unused returned items, which would typically be repackaged.

Helen Skelton said: “It’s really exciting to be closely involved with the Victoria Plum Community Foundation.

“It’s a fabulous initiative that will have a direct and positive impact throughout the UK, particularly as people can put forward projects they think will have the most benefit for their local community.”

Founded in 2001, Victoria Plum is the largest online-only bathroom retailer in the UK and employs approximately 400 people.

The company's CEO, Paul McClenaghan, said: “Although we are most well-known for our bathrooms, we’re doing plenty of work behind the scenes to build a fairer, greener and more socially responsible company.

“The creation of our Victoria Plum Community Foundation is a direct result of this and in Helen we have the ideal person to help us launch and deliver it to worthy causes nationwide."
