A TOWN council in Cumbria is set to celebrate 100 years of its local park with a celebration in September.
Wigton Town Council purchased the grounds of Wigton Park back in 1923 and will commemorate its centenary with an event next month.
The party, which is set to take place on Saturday, September 2 between 12-6pm, will feature live music, food stalls... and even alpacas.
Some of the musicians providing entertainment include singer Jenny Ball, comedic punk band The Antics, and Wigton performers Lol & Dave.
The park comprises a playground with modern equipment for children of all ages, three junior football pitches, the bowling club, lawned areas, and flower beds.
A beech tree donated by King Charles in 2012 also stands in front of the Dalton Shelter.
