Carlisle Youth Zone has paid tribute to a local solicitors as they prepare for the Great North Run in September.
Burnetts Solicitors, a law firm based in the city, will be represented by a number of their staff at the half marathon between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields next month.
Michael Walby, James Johnston, Stephen Kirk, and Atif Salim of Burnetts Solicitors are tackling the challenge on Sunday, September 10 to raise vital funds for the CYZ to help support the fantastic work it does to support young people in the region.
Emma Rogerson, development coordinator at Carlisle Youth Zone, said:
"We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Burnetts who in addition to their CYZ Patronage, will be taking part in the Great North Run raising money for Carlisle Youth Zone. Michael Walby, Stephen Kirk, Atif Salim and James Johnstone of Burnetts will join representatives from Just R, Thomas Graham & Sons, and PMS Fabrications who make up the Youth Zones GNR team of 10 runners who will complete the popular race."
"All money fundraised will go a long way in helping to support our core club offer here at CYZ, we run club sessions six nights a week, these sessions provide a safe and fun space with a variety of activities and opportunities available to young people.
"We continue to see record numbers of young people visiting each week, with our active membership around 3000 members, and your donation makes a considerable difference to the support we can offer to 100s of young people, including some of the most vulnerable young people in our community who require a greater need for more targeted support.
"If you would like to adopt CYZ as your charity of choice for a marathon, sky dive or anything else and help to raise vital funds to keep our doors open, then contact emma.rogerson@carlisleyouthzone.org."
Burnetts Solicitors have already raised more than £500 but are targeting £1200 before next month's run.
