A SUPERMARKET employee is celebrating a work anniversary after 20 years with the business.
Janice Wilson joined Aldi in Workington as a store assistant at the Derwent Drive store in 2003 and has become a well-known face among customers and colleagues alike.
From taking part in charity events for Aldi’s dedicated charity Teenage Cancer Trust, including a bikeathon, to supporting fellow colleagues, Janice is an integral part of Aldi’s Workington store team.
Over the past two decades, Janice has seen Aldi continue to grow and invest in the community – including becoming the UK’s fourth largest supermarket last year.
Commenting on her time at Aldi, Janice said: “The growth of Aldi has been huge since I first joined the team, and it has been great to be part of over the last 20 years. Hitting my double decade anniversary is a proud achievement but the time has really flown by!”
When asked what the one Aldi product she couldn’t live without was, Janice said: “I love the fresh flowers delivered everyday – the bouquets look great and last for ages. I always try to pick some up when I can!”
Sandy Mitchell, regional managing director at Aldi UK said: “We are incredibly grateful to all of our colleagues and take great pride in celebrating their achievements.
“Colleagues like Janice have played a key part in our growth and success, and I would like to thank her for her contributions.
“Our colleagues allow us to connect with wider communities and continue to provide the high-quality service that customers keep coming back for.”
