Devonshire Street in the city centre has fully reopened following 'emergency repairs' undertaken by the council.
Cumberland Council said: "Thanks to the hard work of the Cumberland Council Highways team, Devonshire Street in Carlisle, will be fully open by 9am on Saturday, August 19.
"We had to close the bus lane and cycle lane earlier this week to undertake some emergency repairs.
"Our highways team did all they could to minimise disruption. Thanks for your patience."
Devonshire Street is at the heart of future council plans to help revitalise the city centre.

The proposed plans for Devonshire and English Streets include more outdoor seating, street furniture, benches, cycle parking, trees, and plants.
The projects aim to create a "meaningful activity zone", with more spaces for people to walk and spend time sitting outdoors.
