AN APPLICATION has been put forward for five three-bedroom homes near Brampton.

The application site is located to the west of Partridge Hill, Talkin.

The proposal for the detached bungalows was put forward to Cumberland Council by Sam Greig Planning on behalf of Citadel Homes Ltd.

The proposal states the homes will complement the appearance of the existing homes at Partridge Hill and will be finished using matching materials.

It will come with the inclusion of 15 additional car parking spaces.

If it goes ahead, the homes will increase the village's residential offering by 7 per cent, adding to the existing 69 properties.

Despite the size of the project, 31 per cent of the site will be dedicated to wildlife habitat and biodiversity improvements, the design and access statement reads.

"The proposal provides the opportunity to deliver a high quality, small scale housing scheme that will read as a continuation of the sensitively designed and successfully implemented Partridge Hill development.

"Landscaping is a key element of the proposal with extensive new planting proposed both to the perimeter of the site and within the site itself.

"Whilst the site covers 1.497 hectares approximately 31 per cent of the site area will be set aside to to provide wildlife habitat and to enable biodiversity improvements," it reads.

The application was put forward to Cumberland Council on August 15.
