THE Original Factory Shop (TOFS) is set to expand by opening a new store on Penrith's high street.

The company plans to open the new store in Penrith, taking over the former site occupied by M&Co at Bowling Green Lane,  following the collapse of the fashion chain earlier this year.

This move is in line with TOFS' strategy of investing in premium fixtures and fittings and introducing member prices for TOFS Club and App members.

Phil Briggs, Managing Director for The Original Factory Shop said: “Our investment in new store openings is about making sure we have the right stores in the right place. We’re identifying catchments where The Original Factory Shop is not represented and that includes a focus on high streets in major towns.”

“Our growth is testament to the importance of multi-department stores and the roles they play in helping local communities. These openings will help provide more job opportunities at a time when they are most needed.”

This expansion is not only aimed at increasing the company's market presence but also at providing more job opportunities to the local communities. It is estimated that up to 10 jobs will be created as a result of these store openings.

The Factory shop has been advertising for a store manager on a salary of between £24,500 and £27,000, as well as looking for “sales colleagues” recruits to join the team.

Customers can find products from well-known brands such as Adidas, Nike, Clinique, Olay, Ralph Lauren, Converse, Hugo Boss, and Emporio Armani at up to 70 per cent off the recommended retail price.

The new store will be located at the New Squares development which has a total of 24 commercial units available. It has 12 tenants occupying a total of 14 units, leaving 10 units vacant across the site.
