IN A day filled with excitement and relief, students of West Lakes Academy eagerly opened their exam results to discover their academic fate.
Among the sea of smiling faces, one standout student was Lauren Godwin who opened her results to find eight grade 9s and one grade 8. Overwhelmed with emotion, she described the exams period as "a difficult time" and expressed her surprise at her outstanding results.
Lauren is set to study sport at Lakes College in the coming months.
Beth Blythe was another student beaming with pride at her fantastic set of exam results. Looking forward to joining the WLA Sixth Form, Beth's hard work and dedication had clearly paid off.
For Levi McAdam, the joy was captured in his words, "I'm really happy with my results," he said With grade 8 and 9s under his belt, Levi was eager to celebrate his achievements by enjoying a meal with loved ones before heading to football.
September will see him begin his journey in the academy's Sixth Form.
Campbell Sutton echoed the sentiment of contentment, labeling his results as "pretty good." With aspirations to study physiotherapy at university, he will also be joining the academy's Sixth Form in the months to come.
Meanwhile, Rowan Walker expressed satisfaction with his results, pleasantly surprised at how well they had performed. Returning to WLA in September, Rowan is set to pursue A Levels in Maths, Physics, and History.
Jack Albertelli-Cowan, although happy with an impressive set of results, had work to attend to before starting to celebrate. Set to study A Levels at the academy's Sixth Form in Maths, Physics, History, and Drama.
Holly Percival's celebrations included a meal to commemorate her fantastic exam results. Holly will be embarking on a Pipe Fitting apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty.
Lastly, Rowan Brierley opened her amazing grades alongside her friends. With hopes of studying Astrophysics in the future, she will return to West Lakes Academy in September to pursue A Levels.
West Lakes Academy Principal, Abby Deeks said: “Today we celebrate with all those students who have worked hard and achieved success today."
"There were some fantastic individual performances from students and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank the staff, families and friends who have supported these students in achieving their successes. I look forward to seeing many of these students studying with us next year in the sixth form.”
