A NORTH Cumbrian singer has recently own a prestigious award naming him thebest entertainer of the year.
Kelvin Wood, from Hethersgill, won the prize at the Red Carpet Awards in The Netherlands on August 18 this year, which he said is one of his biggest and proudest achievements.
He first found out about the news while he was set to do a gig, while not attending the awards ceremony himself.
A friend who was there texted him ad toldhim of his win.
Kelvin started out as a Robbie Williams tribute act, but started songwrting in 2020 to explore his own artistry.
He subsequently released his first album Battle Scars earlier this year, which was nominated for the Indie Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA) awards in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
