CUMBRIAN PARANORMAL investigator Louis Dee has been in Ireland recently exploring the 'haunted' history of the Titanic.

Louis runs a YouTube channel which is now called Paranormal Origins and has recently signed a two-year TV deal to be shown on streaming services worldwide.

His trip to Belfast in Northern Ireland is part of the filming he will be doing for the first official season.

Louis said: "Thompson Dock saw many ships pass through, the most famous of course being RMS Titanic.

"Following the liner’s launch from the slipways on May 31, 1911, she was warped into the dry dock for fitting out before departing Belfast to set off on her maiden voyage in April 1912.

"The dry dock was used by Harland and Wolff and White Star Line and we started the investigation off with permission.

"Inside the dry dock where over 200 people had lost their lives, as is documented, buy up to 5-10 people could die when building the ships and many died building the Titanic.

"As we headed down it was like heading down to a black mass, you couldn’t see the bottom.

"The atmosphere changed when we got to the bottom, it became calm but eerie.

"As we walked around the original structures that were used on the Titanic and looked at the now disused stairs where the workers would arrive was history in itself, this was more of a personal investigation to me having close connections to Ismay the creator of the Titanic.

"As we were down in the dry dock we could see the original pump house above and the white star line buildings, it was like stepping back in time.

"As we started our investigation we could hear bangs of metal every now and then as if the workers were still at work.

"As we got further into the dry dock I felt as if someone had wrapped their arms around my body and I could smell burning, Neal who we were explained that it’s said there’s is a spirit who loves to joke and play pranks on people in the dock.

"We set up some equipment including motion sensor lights and voice recording devices, as we listened back to them we could hear footsteps and a voice saying yes to the question, 'Is anyone here with us now?'

"I came up with the idea to replicate the time they were alive so we played shipyard sounds from our speakers and I called out 'Has anyone got a light I can use I can’t see?'

"At that moment the sensor light lit up, we placed two light-up devices which you have to touch for them to light up.

"I asked again can you light this one up if you're female or this one if your male and it lit up.

"That being said we definitely made contact with an intelligent spirit.

"It’s sad to think that the conditions they worked in back then building the Titanic and even after death their spirit remains in the dock."
