THE Settle-Carlisle Railway is offering a special treat this Christmas with a Santa Special steam train journey from Carlisle to York on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Passengers will have the opportunity to experience the festive atmosphere on the first day of the famous York Christmas markets. The steam locomotive will traverse the Settle-Carlisle line, making stops at Carlisle, Appleby, Settle, and Skipton before reaching York.

Along the way, passengers can see the Eden Valley, the Yorkshire three peaks, and the Ribblehead Viaduct.
