POLICE investigating a house fire in Carlisle are treating the incident as 'suspected arson'. 

Emergency services attended to the fire on Lindisfarne Street, Carlisle, after receiving a call at 10.16pm on August 24. 

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously. 

A spokesperson from Cumbria Constabulary said: "Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue attended a house fire on Lindisfarne Street in Carlisle following a call at 10.16pm on 24 August.

"Investigations are on-going, however at this time the incident is currently being treated as suspected arson.

"Cumbria Police would like to hear from anyone with information which may assist, particularly anyone in the locality who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area. 

"Officers would also ask anyone in the area with CCTV, dashcam and/or video doorbells to check their footage.
