Coastguards were tasked with finding a missing person yesterday morning (August 29).
Members of Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team, with Cumbria police and St Bees RNLI, were sent out on the search.
Search areas were established and teams were deployed on foot and by car on the coast.
The RNLI conducted a shoreline search while coastguards and police covered the cliffs and coastal path areas on land.
They were soon joined by coastguard rescue helicopter 199 from Prestwick to cover less visible areas from the air.
In a short time into the search, the missing person was found safe and well by the police.
