A POPULAR Cockermouth home and garden store has announced it will close its doors at the end of this month, as the owner decides to semi-retire.
White and Green Interiors on Station Street in Cockermouth has become a popular store in the town selling an assortment of household and garden items.
However, after 13 happy years of the business the owner has decided to 'semi-retire’, which she says 'won’t come as a surprise to regular customers'.
The store will close at the end of September.
In a statement on social media, White and Green said: “Well, we can’t believe how quickly this past year has gone. Last year I decided that I wanted to semi-retire and get my life back so after 13 years of White and Green Interiors I planned it would be the last year. And the year is nearly up.
“This won’t come as a surprise to all our regular customers as we’ve been saying since last Christmas that we will be closing at the end of September.”
The store owner has thanked the regular customers who have made the shop such a success, and announced many of the stock ranges in the shop will be transferred to Number 15, also on Station Street in the town.
The statement said: “So only four weeks and two days left - not that we’re counting.
"I’m especially thankful to all our regular customers that make it such a successful business and as I will be transferring many of the stock ranges to Number 15 Cockermouth, so we hope you’ll continue to enjoy the range of interior accessories that are currently in White and Green.”
