A NEW florist's which has appeared on TV and provided flowers for Prime Ministers has opened on Egremont's Main Street.

Theresa Bailey, a 60-year-old florist originally from Rutland, has established a successful business called Creations For Occasions.

What started as a hobby with silk flowers in 2012 has now become a thriving venture which Ms Bailey says "provides a much-needed service to the community."

With a diploma in floristry and business studies, Ms Bailey has honed her craft and gained recognition for her talent.

Ms Bailey's priority is always flowers, and she 'takes pride in offering a wide range of choices' for her customers.

She said: "My priorities are flowers first! I do have some gifts, candles, incense sticks, melts etc but I am about flowers first."

She has created bouquets for some honourable people.

She said: "I have made bouquets for Prime Ministers and their wives and the President of Malta, as well as the embassy, TV shows and the general public... but each creation is important, no matter how big or small."

Her work has been featured on TV shows and in an online magazine for a rooftop garden she designed.

She said: "I have also been on BBC Radio Cumbria talking about Roses with Pete Moss."

Ms Bailey's expertise and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as she has been nominated for England's business awards in Cumbria's Best Florist category.

One of the unique features of Ms Bailey's business is the 24-hour nationwide delivery service she provides.

Her hand-tied bouquets are kept fresh during transit with 'water-retaining beads', ensuring that her customers receive fresh flowers no matter where they are located.

The freedom to exercise her creativity is one of the best aspects of owning her own business, according to Ms Bailey. She said: "The best thing about owning the business is having a free reign over creations, flower and plant choice and general purchases made for the business."

Creations for Occassions has opened at 16 Main Street in Egremont, where Sparkles Beauty was formerly located.
