A MAN has admitted assaults on a male and two police officers after being challenged over taking a glass outside a pub.
Ben Rennick, 37, pleaded guilty to assault by beating, being drunk and disorderly and two charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Briefly outlining the case at Workington Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Graeme Tindall said Rennick had been challenged over taking a glass outside of a pub in Cockermouth when the assault on a man took place.
Mr Tindall said when police officers had arrived on the scene, Rennick had spat at them.
John Cooper, defending, disputed this and said they were kicks. He said Rennick had PTSD and it had been suggested that he could be suitable for a mental health treatment requirement.
The case was adjourned until September 25 to allow a pre-sentence report to be prepared by the probation service.
Rennick, of Henry Street, Cockermouth, was granted unconditional bail.
