Folk rock legends Lindisfarne are set to enthral audiences in Carlisle this winter as part of their ongoing 2023 UK tour.

This October, the band convene at the Victoria Hall in Settle, continuing a journey that propelled them to fame in the 1970s.

Two performances are scheduled in Carlisle's Old Fire Station on November 30 and December 1.

It was their seminal album 'Fog on The Tyne’, which topped charts for four weeks in 1972 and remained on the chart for a resonating 56 weeks.

Further propelling their success, "Meet Me on the Corner", penned by bassist Rod Clements, attained No.1 single status.

"We're so pleased with the response we've been getting," says Rod.

"Everybody loves an evening out enjoying live music and we are very grateful for the strong demand to see us."

"We have a lot of songs and we make a point of rejuvenating our set list regularly which means dusting down old numbers and bringing them back to life and that's a pleasure for us too."

Since their formation in North-East England in 1968, Lindisfarne's distinct style draws from the late Alan Hull's songwriting prowess, blending "sweet and sour" harmonies and bold references to their English roots with an infectious acoustic-rock swagger.

Decades later, the band's legacy continues to thrive.

This year, ‘Radio Times - Live At The BBC 1971-1990’, offers an immersive, eight disc experience with over eight hours of recordings, celebrating the band's extensive history.

The set, including over 60 previously unreleased tracks, comes packaged with an essay by music writer Chris Charlesworth and full approval from the original Lindisfarne band members and their estates.
