POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage after a high-speed chase in Carlisle resulted in an abandoned vehicle.
Attempting to stop a silver Ford Mondeo estate in the area of Junction 44 on the M6, at approximately 13:05 today (September 12), officers were led into the city centre, where the vehicle manoeuvred at a dangerous speed, barely missing other road users.
For the safety of other road users, the pursuit ended but the vehicle was later discovered on Kershope Road in the Lowry Hill area, and subsequently seized by the police.
There were reports of three males fleeing the scene towards Kingmoor Junior School, one of whom was wearing a full grey tracksuit.
Authorities are urging any witnesses or those with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
Additionally, residents in vicinity of Kershope Road or Lowry Hill possessing video doorbells or CCTV are asked to review their footage for individuals fleeing the Kershope Road area around 1:10pm.
