Marking a decade of community giving, wealth manager RBC Brewin Dolphin has granted £5,000 to ten nominated charities - including one in Cumbria.

The scheme received over 120 recommendations from employees after the company invited them to nominate small, local charities from the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Ultimately, 10 of the charities were chosen by a panel to receive a grant.

Among the recipients is the Triple A project, a Cumbria-based group supporting individuals with autism through a myriad of programmes including employment advice, post-diagnosis support, and the 'Positive Pals' friendship initiative.

Andrew Asquith-Vallance, a financial planner and trustee of Triple A, expressed pride in supporting the charity's vital local endeavour during a cheque presentation.

He said: "We are pleased to be able to support the invaluable work of such a wonderful local charity."

Triple A's chair, Sheila Gregory, said that the generous donation was a boon for the charity, and added that the £5,000 would fund a 'Positive Pals' group for a year amid challenging economic conditions.

She said: “We are delighted to receive this generous donation from RBC Brewin Dolphin. It is so difficult for small charities to raise money in the present economic circumstances. £5,000 will fund one of our Positive Pals groups for a year.”
