Part of the popular Taste Cumbria event due to take place in Cockermouth this weekend has been cancelled due to forecasted high winds
Taste Cumbria was set to take place over the weekend but all the events have been cancelled on Sunday due to poor weather.
The Met Office has forecast heavy rain at times in Cumbria and gale force winds at the coast for Sunday.
Stalls will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday in Main Street, Market Place and Memorial Gardens Car Park.
The Market Place Street party is still going ahead, and there will be live music on the main stage in the drinks tent on Memorial Gardens, as well as acoustic musicians on Main Street and Market Place.
Also in Memorial Gardens Car Park is the hot food court and a children’s fairground. There will be children’s entertainment, including some crazy science experiments, in The Vicky shared workspace on High Sand Lane, and there will also be walkabout street theatre all around the town.
Friday night’s Supper Club is still going ahead, as is the Cocktail Masterclass on Saturday. Both are ticketed events and are sold out.
Cumberland Council said they were 'so sad' to have to cancel the Sunday events but encouraged locals to support the event on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Cumberland Council said: "Regretfully we have had to make the decision to cut short the Taste Cumbria food festival in Cockermouth this weekend due to a forecast of very high gusts of wind.
"The good news is that everything will go ahead on Saturday, but we are unable to hold the event on Sunday.

"As event organisers, Cumberland Council's top priority is the health, safety and welfare of our visitors, staff and traders. We’re used to rain in Cumbria, but unfortunately windy conditions can be highly dangerous where gazebos and marquees are concerned.
"Don’t forget the wealth of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants in Cockermouth which will be open and please pop in and support them too.
"We are so sad to make this decision but please come and enjoy the festival on Saturday. Thank you for your understanding - please visit Cockermouth, support your local businesses and have a great time."
