A CARLISLE primary school has been 'honoured' by the visit of a local Catholic men's organisation.
Carlisle's branch of the Knights of St Columba (KSC), Council 60 visited St. Cuthberts Primary School on Victoria Road as part of it's National Relic Tour 2023.
The visit also included a meet and greet with the Grand Knight and Fr Paul and the showcasing of the KSC's relics which have been touring the United Kingdom.
St. Cuthbert's Primary School headteacher Sarah Hutchinson said: "We were honoured to have the Knights of St Columba and the relics in school.
"The children listened well to the information and had done research on the saints which they shared on the day."
This visit to the local primary school came in the same week that the Carlisle branch of the KSC celebrated its centenary.
Council 60 of the KSC was established on September 23 1923, with its first Grand Knight being Lt Bernard Francis Rudden, MBE, and this milestone was marked with a concelebrated Mass and a formal dinner at St Margaret Mary’s Church on Scalegate Road on Friday, September 22.
