The Piatak family have spoken of their “heartfelt gratitude” to Carlisle United’s fans for backing their takeover plans.

The American business people say they are thankful for the “resounding endorsement” from a 98 per cent vote in their favour by supporters’ trust members.

And the Piataks have also reiterated their determination to resolve the debt situation at United and get the takeover deal over the line.

In their first public comments since CUOSC voted in favour of their deal, which would see the trust’s stake in CUFC Holdings reduced from 25.4 per cent to ten per cent, a statement from the Piataks’ newly-formed company Castle Sports Group was issued today.

It said:

On behalf of Castle Sports Group and the Piatak family, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your overwhelming support regarding our proposal.

The resounding endorsement with over 98 per cent support is a testament to the unity, trust and shared enthusiasm among the fan base and the hope we all have for the club’s journey ahead.

As we move forward, our commitment to resolving the remaining challenges, particularly the legacy debt, is our top priority.

Be reassured to know that we are dedicated to overcoming this hurdle, with the goal of making the club financially stronger at the conclusion of the transaction.

The sense of community and solidarity among the fans is what makes Carlisle United special, and your strong endorsement only strengthens that bond.

As we continue to progress this transaction, it is comforting to know that we have the support of the CUOSC trust and Carlisle fan base behind us, cheering for success and progress.

Castle Sports Group and the Piatak family will become an integral part of the Carlisle United story, and we look forward to the exciting chapters that lie ahead.

The process of seeking approval from the EFL remains ongoing, with some further information still to be submitted by Castle Sports Group for the EFL to review.

With warm regards and unwavering support,

The Piatak family.

It is the second such official statement issued by Castle Sports Group regarding their interest in the Blues.

The company is set to be the vehicle for the Florida business family’s bid to acquire 90 per cent of CUFC Holdings and take control of United.

Tom Piatak has previously spoken about his "confidence" that a resolution to United's seven-figure debt situation with Purepay Retail Limited can be found.

The Blues have not yet officially commented on the CUOSC vote, although chief executive Nigel Clibbens tweeted about the fan engagement aspect of the situation.

"This is fan engagement and participation at the heart of a club in action. Fans being part of critical decision making and having a real voice," he wrote.
