Trevor Nelson, the BBC Radio presenter and DJ, is set to bring his Soul Nation show to Carlisle early next year.
The nation's favourite RNB DJ, BBC Radio 1Xtra & Radio 2 giant will host his ultimate old school party Soul Nation at Carlisle's Old Fire Station on Saturday, February 3, where he will play the best in 80s/90s/00s and 2010s classic RNB, hip hop, funk & soul.
In 2010, he was awarded with the special gold lifetime achievement award for his services to broadcasting, at the Sony Radio Academy Awards.
The 59-year-old is a pioneer of the urban music scene and started his broadcasting career back in 1985 on London's Kiss FM, before moving to BBC Radio 1 in 1996, where he has presented his Rhythm Nation show ever since.
This show also led to him winning a MOBO Award in 1997 as Best DJ, so he is sure to create an incredible atmosphere at the Old Fire Station next year.
Soul Nation has been Trevor Nelson's pride and joy over the last 10 years, starting off with a monthly residency at London's legendary Jazz Cafe in 2013, the brand which focused on old-school soul and RNB classics from the 80s, 90s and 00s for the maturer and more discerning audience.
The show then grew to encompass residencies in Manchester, Leeds, and Brighton, culminating with national tours over the last few years.
Visitors can expect to hear everything from Beyonce to Usher, Mariah Carey to Luther, Outkast to Dru Hill, the party will be a celebration of the golden era of urban music, taking you back to your partying heyday.
Trevor will be joined on the evening by another Soul Nation DJ and the Old Fire Station's very own DJ Lovequest.
The standing show is set to run from 7.30pm until midnight, with tickets available on the Old Fire Station website for £29.
