A CUMBRIAN couple have jetted off to Tenerife for a honeymoon after tying the knot in front of family and friends at Rosley Church, followed by a reception at the Greenhill Hotel, Wigton.
Farmer Adam Bell, 32, and auction clerk Amy Bell, 31, first met at school but did not get together until seven years ago.
The pair became inseparable and Adam decided Amy was the one and proposed at home.
Recalling the day, Amy said: "Adam proposed while we were working among sheep in June 2022 next to a pile of chicken poop, which was very romantic. Not."
Adam's stag do was at Cartmel Races, whereas Amy had a hen do in Carlisle followed by a bottomless brunch in Newcastle and Bongo Bingo, and then the Dalston Show.
Finally, on September 23, 2023, the pair's wedding day arrived.
Amy said: "Our wedding was at Rosley Church and The Greenhill Hotel with a theme of 'farming and simple'.
"Adam's best man was his friend, Tom Steel, page boy was his nephew Toby Bell.
"My flower girls were my nieces Poppy Bell and Mabel Bell and my bridesmaids were my friends Sarah Peile, Tracy Harrison, Joanne Gate, and Caitlin Harrison."
The couple had 130 guests through the day and welcomed an extra 120 at night.
They got married at 1pm and wanted a lot of pictures at the church, so had Pimms and nibbles in the church grounds then moved to the reception ceremony for speeches at 4pm and ate at 4.30pm. Then their night guests arrived at 7pm.
"We had scratch cards for favours and everyone enjoyed our cake which was a Victoria sponge - made by Claire Raven," said Amy.
"Our first dance was to Ed Sheeren - Perfect, then we had a DJ for the rest of the night.
"My best part of the day was having all our loved ones together and marrying my best friend... whereas Adam said that was 'a good feed'!"
