Carlisle College held its annual awards event last month, recognising the continuous effort and outstanding achievements of both learners and staff.
The awards, which were sponsored by Cumberland Council, took place on Tuesday, September 26, and were a great opportunity to highlight outstanding and exceptional individuals from Carlisle College and showcase their achievements, talents, and successes during the last academic year.
A total of 10 students were awarded prizes ranging from Outstanding Learner Achievement, Adult Learner of the Year, and the Maths & English Award.
Winners were selected from a high number of nominations that had been received from teaching staff and considered their achievement against key indicators such as attendance, behaviour, and standard of work as well as the challenges they may have faced and overcome during their studies.
Telappliant (formerly Connexions Group) was awarded Employer of the Year, recognising their ongoing support in providing industry placements for students and allowing those individuals to develop skills, experience, and knowledge firsthand in the workplace.
Sarah McGrath, Principal, Carlisle College said: "It is great to be hosting our College award ceremony once again. It’s a great opportunity to highlight exceptional individuals and celebrate the commitment and dedication shown by our learners, which has been outstanding.
"This is also the first time we have incorporated our staff awards into the event, but it’s been really fitting for us all to come together to formally recognise everyone’s achievements and celebrate those that work hard to support the college and shown commitment to excellence."
