BT Openreach have apologised after 11 households were left without a phoneline or broadband due to a faulty underground cable.
Local residents in Isel have been concerned about the lack of a phoneline in such a remote village.
"This is completely unacceptable," said one resident.
"My neighbour is 90 years old and has no way of making contact with anyone. It is hopeless trying to speak to someone in charge at openreach, you get fobbed off with any old excuse.
"I don’t think it’s acceptable in 2023 for this to happen."

To complete the repair a civil engineering team is needed to excavate and expose the cable in order to repair it but traffic management is required during the repair.
A spokesperson for Openreach said: “We’re very sorry that a small number of customers in Isel are without phone and broadband service. This has been caused by a faulty underground cable which requires a full excavation in order for the repair to take place.
"Unfortunately, to complete the work traffic management on a 60Mph road is required. Work is currently scheduled to go ahead for this Monday but we’re pushing to see if an earlier date is possible.”
