The takeover of Carlisle United is moving closer according to the American family in talks with the club.
The Piataks, who have been in discussions for months with the club, posted a positive update on social media about the situation.
Via Castle Sports Group, the company being used as the vehicle for the takeover, the Florida family made a comment following the Blues' 1-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
"Tough loss today for the Blues - on a positive note, off the pitch, progress is being made on the transaction!," their comment on X said.
It is the Piataks' first public remark on the takeover since they expressed their gratitude to supporters for the overwhelming backing given by CUOSC members at last month's vote.

Some 98 per cent of the vote went in favour of the Piataks' proposals, which will see them acquire 90 per cent control of CUFC Holdings with CUOSC's voting share reduced from 25.4 per cent to ten per cent.
United boss Paul Simpson, speaking on Thursday, said his most recent understanding was that the takeover was "ticking over nicely".
Tom Piatak senior told the News & Star last month that they were hopeful of completing the deal in the October 14 to 20 period.
It remains unclear, though, whether there has been a breakthrough in talks over the club's seven-figure debt to Purepay Retail Limited.
The takeover is also being assessed by the EFL, with information submitted to the league by the Piataks and the Blues.
Tom Piatak snr, speaking at the CUOSC meeting, set out his family's intentions to build the Blues' infrastructure.
He also said the plan was to give Simpson a "step change" budget in the January transfer window in an attempt to safeguard the Cumbrians' League One status.
The defeat to Orient left the Blues 20th in the table after 13 games.
