Shill's of Cockermouth has sealed a retail deal with award-winning champagne supplier, Sip Champagnes.
The local wine merchant will now sell speciality champagnes direct from French farmers.
This partnership will enable Cumbria's dedicated wine enthusiasts to savour small-batch, artisan champagnes, which include Perrine Fresne’s novel ‘Sarmate’ No1 and Bonnaire Terriors and Bonnaire Tradition.
Champagne retailer, Sip Champagnes, was awarded 'Sparkling Retailer of the Year 2023' in the International Wine Challenge Industry Awards.
The retailer prides itself on its commitment to ethically-sourced artisan products, and boasts an assortment of 150 individual cuvées from over 25 villages.
Emily Speck of Shill’s of Cockermouth, voiced her excitement over the collaboration.
She said: "Working directly with small-batch, artisan and handcrafted food and drink producers is at the heart of everything we do here at Shill’s.
"By partnering with Sip Champagnes, we’re now able to bring multi award-winning grower champagnes to wine lovers across Cumbria direct from the farmers in France.
"Perrine Fresne’s new ‘Sarmate’ No1 and Bonnaire aren’t available to buy anywhere else in Cumbria, so we’re really proud to be offering our customers these unique, great value products for the first time and for less than £50 per bottle."
In sync with Shill’s proclivity to champion independent, ethically sourced produce, Sip Champagnes focuses on newly discovered and fully independent producers that can't be found anywhere else.
Sip Champagnes co-founder, Daniel Blatchford said: "We’re really excited to be launching our first retail partnership in Cumbria with Shill’s of Cockermouth.
"We love to work with independent, family-run wine merchants like Shill’s who appreciate only the best small-batch, handcrafted champagne direct from France’s iconic wine region."
Founded in 2021, Sip Champagnes has stormed the champagne retail scene, and in the last year has also taken ‘Champagne Retailer of the Year’ from Decanter.
They were also named a runner up in the 'Best Newcomer' and 'Judges Choice' categories.
The company also clinched the 'Specialist Online Retailer of the Year Award' for 2022 from The Drinks Business.
Sip Champagnes' packaging is made from 100 per cent recycled material.
For every order placed, they pledge to plant a tree.
