A carriageway will be closed for four days, the council has warned.
Important improvement works, overseen by Cumberland Council, will take place from Scotby Road to Park Road in Carlisle beginning October 23 and ending October 27.
During the process road closures along Scotby Road and Park Road will be in effect.
A diversion route is available through Montgomery Way.
Work is estimated to happen from 8am to 4pm daily.
The council suggests any residents or businesses needing access to their properties engage with the Traffic Marshal present at the site and emergency service access will be preserved.
Cumberland Council said: "We wish to thank the community for their continued support and patience while improvements are made to the road network and apologises for any inconvenience."
