A popular bookshop in Carlisle is continuing its annual tradition of collecting books and toys for children in need this Christmas. 

Bookends, located in the heart of the city centre at 19 Castle Street, will be accepting donations between November 6 and December 15, 2023. 

All donations go towards local charities for the children's book and toy bank and will be given to children (aged 0-16) who are experiencing financial or emotional problems. 

Bookends Carlisle wrote:  Your donations go towards local children struggling with financial or emotional problems and make a real difference in the community. So please do give generously!

"A gift of a new book or toy will give a child endless joy."

You can contribute at the donation point in front of the store, and for every book bought in the shop to donate to the collection, Bookends promise to match it and add another book themselves.
