Young musicians in the region are being invited to grab 35x promotional tickets to see a big band concert taking place.

This will be held in All Saints Church in Gretna on Sunday, December 10.

The concert will be hosted by Manchester-based 17-piece, DGKollective, featuring Glasgow-based French/American vocalist, Ariane Mamon.

A varied concert programme will include Swing Classics, Latin/Afro-Cuban-tinged tunes, Pop, TV/Film soundtracks, and festive ditties.

DGK Director, Andrew Turnbull: "This is a chance for young musicians to see a big band up close, which they may never have done. The band has some great musicians from the Northwest of England to the BORDERS and Glasgow.

"Furthermore, they are invited to attend the rehearsal on the afternoon of the concert, if they wish to come along from 1.30 to 4.30pm.

"I am keen to see young musicians get involved with the big band scene; hence the promotional offer.

"I would particularly like to hear from secondary school students who are studying music and musical instruments at school, as they have the most to gain from the experience."
