A GREEK food outlet in Penrith is 'proud' after being named best takeaway in Cumbria.

Just Greek, on King Street, scored big at the Cumbria Retail Business Awards 2023 in Carlisle back in October. 

Not only is this the second triumph for the beloved eatery since 2021, but it is also in contention for the national Grand Finals scheduled for November 19 in Birmingham.

Adding to the fanfare, the Greek eatery run by Yannis Papameletis and fiancé Maria finds itself among the top 20 green nationwide at the British Kebabs Awards 2023, vying for glory at the grand finals in London, come February 2024.

The couple's unique approach to delivering delicious homemade Greek cuisine has cemented their place among the best in the country.

"We are so proud of this achievement and we would like to thank all our lovely local community and all those people who continuously support us," Yannis said. 

"We are proud to be the best takeaway in the whole of Cumbria and if we win at the grand finals or not, we already feel like winners and we appreciate it.

"All this makes us keep going and continue to do our best for all of our friends and customers," he said.
