THE Rum Story's rainforest exhibition has been damaged by Storm Debi, rendering it closed to the public.
Yesterday's rain water 'aggravated existing issues' at the museum, many of which aren't unusual for an old building.
The Rum Story said: "Our rainforest area (and others) became a bit more of an immersive experience than we'd have liked!
"Yesterday's gales and huge downpours together made it virtually impossible to keep on top of the situation.
"We need a sufficient enough period of dry weather before the roofers can carry out their work, so in the meantime we remain at the mercy of the weather gods."
The shop and café remain open, but the exhibition should be back open later this week in time for private events and school visits.
