A WANTED man was arrested by police after teams from the road and firearms division pursued him through Carlisle.
The man was arrested this morning, November 16 on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and assault after police pursued the car which was suspected as containing the wanted male.
Police have said that the wanted male is from the area, with specialist roads teams and firearms support pursuing his vehicle through the city prior to his arrest.
In a post on social media, Cumbria roads police and firearms support said: "This morning the Firearms Support Unit and Roads Policing Unit have pursued a vehicle throughout the city of Carlisle.
"The vehicle was suspected of containing a wanted male from the area, the male has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and assault."
