A retelling of the Three Little Pigs is hitting the road, thanks to the creative minds at Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company.
The family-friendly show has been developed with input from nine children and promises a unique, physical performance featuring lively puppets and original music.
The children not only helped to write the play but also got a taste of all aspects of the production, including attending rehearsals and spending a day at The National Theatre studios in August as part of the National Theatre's Generate programme.
Director and Artistic Director Niki McCretton said: "It is a show about family - three plucky siblings and a Lone Wolf!
"We have been creating it with a group of wonderfully insightful and inspiring children who have contributed brilliant ideas, so it’s a show that has real heart as well as some exciting adventures."
Co-writer Anna Murphy said: "I am delighted to be in the theatrical playground that is Stuff and Nonsense’s storytelling. The Three Little Pigs, like their other shows, is a suitcase full of delight, inventiveness, joy, and wonder."
The show chronicles the journey of three little pigs on the run after they tricked a clueless wolf, calling on audiences to help them in building a shelter to outsmart their pursuer.
The performance will take place at Theatre by the Lake, Lakeside, Keswick from February 17 to February 20.
A BSL performance will take place on February 17 at 2pm.
