POLICE officers in the Eden area have been assisting businesses with crime prevention.
PCSOs visited an industrial estate in Appleby to assist businesses with preventing crime.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: "Today local PCSOs and our Crime Prevention Reduction Officer have revisited businesses on Crosscroft Industrial in Appleby.
"We have seen what security measures are in place for each business, updated our records on key contact details, and offered advice where necessary.
"We set a Business Watch Group up in this area a few years ago. It’s proven today that this has been working well & we’ve added more businesses to the group.
"The businesses are aware to report anything suspicious to 101 and 999 if something is happening at the time. We continue to build strong bonds with our community in Appleby.
"We have more premises to visit and we will continue to be highly visible in the area, especially on these dark nights."
