H&H Insurance Brokers (HHIB) has bolstered its team with the appointment of three key personnel as part of ongoing plans to expand.

Cumbrian-based HHIB operates across the North of England, the south of Scotland and Wales.

The new appointments are aimed at bringing further expertise into the business, thereby strengthening its presence across regional bases.

The trio includes Mary Ballard, who steps into a business development role, training as an Account Executive.

Craig Dickson and David Murchie will also join the firm as Account Executives.

Mary Ballard, formerly of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, is based at the Carlisle head office.

She is expected to bring her wealth of connections and business expertise to build new client relationships and drive business expansion.

Mr Dickson will operate in the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland from HHIB's Newtown St Boswells office.

Mr Murchie will cater to clients in Dumfries and Galloway and across the south west Scotland region.

Paul Graham, Managing Director of HHIB, said: “Having the right team in place is vital to our commitment to continually moving the business forward and building on our success.

“The depth and breadth of experience which Mary, Craig and David bring to the team is fantastic and we’re delighted that they are now part of the HHIB story.”

Recently released annual results from its holding company, H&H Group, revealed another strong and consistent year for HHIB, one of H&H Group's five subsidiary companies.

The company continued to invest in people and geographical expansion, reinforcing its position.

Ms Ballard brings with her a solid track record in sales, marketing, and business consultancy.

She has run her own PR, sales and marketing agency, and established Showcase Cumbria, a community platform and website showcasing the county.

Her work on Showcase Cumbria earned her a nomination in the 2024 Northern Power Women Awards and the 2024 Cumbria Women of the Year Awards.

She said: “I’m all about people which is what drew me to the role. I’m really excited about the opportunity to use my experience as part of the HHIB team.”

The near 40-year-old HHIB is one of the UK's leading independent insurance brokers.

It was the Independent Broker of the Year at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards.

The company offers broad sector coverage, including tourism and hospitality, agriculture and rural, commercial, and property.

It also provides a number of specialist insurance products.
