The Penrith Schools Carol Concert returns this December, welcoming nine local schools.
Held on December 4 and 5 at St Andrew's Church, the concert is led by Penrith Schools Music Association's lead teacher Lynsey Wrightson, Director of Music at Hunter Hall School, supported by Sarah Richardson of St Catherine's.
This festive celebration features almost 30 hymns and carols from energetic favourites to a piece by local musician, Jilly Jarman.
Those taking part range from village primary schools through to college.
All proceeds from ticket sales are reinvested into the schools to fund music education.
Ms Wrightson said: "It’s such a busy time of year and for so many schools to make this extra-curricular effort every year demonstrates just how much enjoyment the students get out of the concerts.”
Tickets, priced at £5 for adults and £3 for children, can be bought online, and a food bank collection point will also be available at the concerts.
