COMEDY lovers in Carlisle are getting their laughs postponed as the Sands Centre upcoming show has been cancelled.

The venue is undergoing roof replacement works due to the use of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac), forcing the temporary shutdown.

As a result, comedian Sarah Millican's 'Late Bloomer' tour, scheduled for August 1, 2024, will not be going ahead as planned.

Sarah Millican announced the news online, and said: "We had hoped to be able to announce rescheduled dates for Late Bloomer, but as the timeframe for the repair works is still being finalised it's fairer for everyone to cancel the shows and for ticket holders to receive a refund now."

The timeframe for the repair works is still being finalised, which is why Sarah and her management opted for cancellation over rescheduling. Ticket holders' refunds will be processed automatically, negating the need for requests.

"Refunds will be automatically processed and customers do not need to contact the box office or See Tickets to request their refund," assured the Comedian.

Sarah is hoping to be able to bring the Late Bloomer tour back to the Sands Centre when it does reopen, hopefully in 2025. 

'Late Bloomer' would have seen the celebrated comedian sharing personal experiences, from being a quiet person, to her friendships and physical transformation over the years.
