Patterdale Mountain Rescue was tasked with helping an injured walker.
A woman had slipped and hurt her leg on a wet grassy area.
A spokesperson said: "The Team was tasked by Cumbria Police to a female who had been walking in the Hartsop/Deepdale area when she slipped on wet grass descending down How End wood.
"On arrival at the casualty site, her friends were keeping her dry and warm in a survival tent. Her ankle was examined and after being given strong pain relief it was splinted and she was carried off the hill in a stretcher.
"The lady then went to hospital with her friends for further treatment.
"The team wishes the female a swift recovery from her injury.
"Eleven team members were involved in the rescue which took two hours to complete."
