A FOURTEEN-year-old Carlisle boy has been sentenced for knife crimes and a robbery involving the theft of 71p.

The teenager, who can not be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates at the city’s Rickergate Youth Court, where he had earlier pleaded guilty to six offences.

Those offences were:

  • Threatening a person with a knife in Trevor Street, Carlisle, on August 11.
  • Possessing a knife on the same occasion
  • Possessing a knife in a residential Carlisle Street on September 22.
  • Robbery on August 22, when he stole the 71p from another male.
  • Burglary on September 22 when he entered a dwelling in the Morton area of Carlisle, stealing knives and a fruit bowl.
  • And a theft on September 22, when he stole a pair of trousers.

After hearing the details, magistrates imposed a 12-month referral order and restraining orders, banning any contact with the victim of the robbery.

The schoolboy was represented in court by defence lawyer Nick Kennon.
