A FAULT with an underground electricity cable has left some residents in Whitehaven without power this afternoon.

It has been reported that 22 customers in the Bransty area of Whitehaven have been affected by the power cut, with Electricity North West saying teams are heading to site to deal with the issue 'as quickly and as safely as possible'.

This power cut has been caused by an unexpected incident with the underground cable that provides electricity to homes and business in the area. 

A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “We received reports of a power cut at 3:30pm affecting 22 properties in Bransty due to a fault with an underground electricity cable.

“Teams will be heading to site and will aim to carry out a repair and restore power as quickly and as safely as possible.”

The estimated time of restoration for power to the properties is 9:31pm this evening November, 28.
