Outdoor Cats

This week we have 12 cats looking for rural, outdoor homes through our Trap, Neuter, Return Programme.

The Trap Neuter Return Programme has been operational since 2015 and over the years over 1200 cats have been helped. The aim is to reduce feral cat populations and ensure that all cats receive appropriate medical treatment and neutering.

Usually, all the cats are neutered and then returned to their original location within 48 hours but due to the 12 cats’ particular circumstances, they are unable to be returned so we are seeking new outdoor homes.

Our Community Team will ensure all cats are neutered and vaccinated. They are looking for outdoor homes (in pairs or more) that could be ideal for farms, livery yards, small holdings or allotments.

They will need a safe indoor space to stay in while they settle and get used to their surroundings.

On this occasion, the cats will need to be relocated and will be ready to move to their new home on December 7 or 8. If you think you might have a home or want to know more, please contact communityteam@oaktreeanimals.org.uk or call 01228560082 ext. 228.

Cleo

The first few weeks of being at Oak Tree Cleo was very nervous and didn't want to come out of her kennel. After days of sitting with her and giving her treats to gain her trust, we finally got her off her bed and out of her kennel.

Cleo enjoyed her first walk around the woods, and since that day Cleo has loved coming out for her walks.

Cleo is coming along well and is building her confidence daily but still has a long way to go and needs an owner who has the time and patience to carry on the work we are doing with her.

This lovely girl is looking for a quiet semi-rural home with adults only and she could potentially live with another calm dog but not cats. Any potential adopters would need to be prepared to have a few visits with her to build her confidence and a bond with her.

If you want to find out more information about Cleo please call 01228 560082 (between 10am and 4pm) and speak to a member of our Small Animal Team or email: smallanimalteam@oaktreeanimals.org.uk.
