THIS week Carlisle Socialist Party held a stall in the city centre.
Some members of the public signed their petition calling for an end to NHS privatisation and above-inflation pay rises for all health and care workers.
A spokesperson said: "People complained they can’t get an NHS dentist or see a GP quickly in Cumbria. Nationally a record 7.8 million people are suffering on waiting lists while burned-out, underpaid doctors and nurses are leaving the NHS.
"We call for a fully publicly funded NHS and care system, free at the point of use, with no prescription or dental charges - reverse privatisation, scrap PFI and bring all outsourced workers and services back in-house."
