A craft group has hosted a festive family session at Appleby Railway Station.
The Appleby Craft Group, invited by the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company, put on their first family craft workshop at the station where participants crafted Christmas decorations.
The group was also responsible for creating the town’s crochet Christmas tree.
Vice-chair of the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company, John Moorhouse, said: "We were delighted and grateful to the Appleby Craft Group for accepting our invitation to host the Christmas Crafting session in the waiting room at Appleby Railway Station.
“These types of events are great opportunities for us to support the local community and look forward to welcoming Appleby Craft Group back at the station in the new year, and other groups who would like to use our warm and friendly station.”
The event was free, with a suggested donation of £5 per family.
All craft supplies were provided by the Appleby Craft Group, while refreshments were courtesy of the Settle Carlisle Railway Development Company.
The company hope to host more events such as this in the station buildings and have invited the Appleby Craft Group for an Easter workshop next year.
Shirley Simpson of Appleby Craft Group said: "The Waiting Room was a wonderful place to host the family craft workshop and we had plenty of Christmas crafts to make.
"We are hosting another open craft day in Appleby Library on Friday, December 22 from 2-4pm and places can be reserved at the library."
