A KENDAL man has pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a knife in a public place and possessing the drug ketamine.
At Carlisle Crown Court, James Sorrenson, 21, admitted the knife offence, which he committed on June 5 while visiting the Westmorland Shopping Centre in Kendal.
The blade was a lock-knife.
The defendant, of Sandylands, Kendal, admitted the drug offence on an earlier occasion. Judge Nicholas Barker told the defendant that he will be sentenced on January 12 after the Probation Service has prepared a background report.
In the meantime, he was granted bail.
* Experts warn that taking ketamine - legitimately used as a veterinary anaesthetic - can be fatal. For more information, check out the FRANK website page
